Based on various feedback, GridCase has been released in it's second iteration as GridSystem. I recommend the new version as it contains fewer non-printed parts, simpler parts gallery and offer better stability in larger builds.
GridCase is a modular system to create computer cases of literally any size. The system offer great flexibility and is designed with future expansions in mind.
Preferred printing material is PETG, but PLA should be acceptable for most scenarios where you create cases with proper cooling (ie. average case temperature is below the PLA “glass temperature”).
Currently experimenting with painting and applying finishes.
Changelog
2024-07-01
- Added Frame-ATX-Cards-Full
2024-06-24
- Added Insert-Half-Power+ExternalUSB panel for the ITX build to be one step closer to completion. Found in the new Panels Connectors folder.
2024-06-15
- Added InnerSupport-ModularPlus-Threaded with pre made M3 threads - no inserts are needed. With this change - 8mm screws are sufficient to stiffen the build.
- Added chamfer to InnerSupport-ModularPlus to make it a bit less visually intrusive.
2024-06-14
- Added InnerSupport as a Modular bracket as an option stiffen panel connections where needed. Requires threaded insert and longer screws.
- Added External 5.25" Drive Cage with support for 3 x 5.25 units (or half-height if you live in the 80s) like Optical Drives, Drive Bays, Accessories. Found in the add-ons folder.
- Specified 5mm insert width in requirements. Future model exports will have wider holes to accommodate for the 5mm Voron style inserts.
2024-06-07.2
- Fix: Added and adjusted some missing ATX related parts from initial published version. All model files required for an ITX build is now available.
2024-06-07.1
General Requirement of Non-Printable Parts
- M3x4mm Threaded Inserts (Ideally M3x5x4, as used in Voron)
- M3x6mm Bolts/Screws (Hex head recommended for style and fitment)
- M3x8-12mm Bolts/Screws (Hex head recommended for style and fitment, for optional stiffeners and internally mounted add-ons)
- Super Glue (Gorilla Super Glue never fails me)
The number of bolts and inserts required depends on your setup, but quite a lot is required for even small builds. A compact ITX build will require around 150 screws and inserts.
Building Instructions
General recommendations
- Material:
- PETG
- PLA (requires proper ventilation and/or low TDP components).
- Wall Thickness: 4-6
All frames have holes for threaded inserts.
It is recommended to mount the whole case first, then dismantle it in sections and glue frames and panels for a tighter fit.
Note! Some sections should not be glued as access is needed during the the lifecyle of the computer.
Step by step building instructions of some common case designs and recommended building techniques will follow once all the minor details are ironed out.
ITX w/SFX PSU (95% completed)
The demonstration of a complete ITX build is currently getting closed to finished
All primary components are created, however the two specialised brackets for the back of the base needs to be created in the slicer with the “Frame Sectioned” as base component.

Tip! To get airflow or visual style to the case - change top and bottom layers on the inner body/components of the panels. Use an infill of liking. Example uses 15% honeycomb with 90 degree infill angle.
