Be careful - do not use the cap with a very hot bottle -  like with just boiled water or during sterilization in the microwave. Although of course it all depends on the plastic - but it seems that there are no non-toxic plastics that can withstand 70 degrees or more and you are unlikely to want to make such a lid from toxic plastic
