I wanted a sturdy webcam mount for my prusa MK3s and decided to make this one. The design is parametric, you can adjust the angle, length and height of arm which allows control of the exact position of the webcam in 3D space (just be careful to make sure the arm doesn't collide with the moving print bed).

I carved a channel along the “far side” of the arm to seat the webcam cable; I also created some channels through the arm for zip ties to hold the cable.

To install the arm on the printer, you will need the following hardware:

  • Hammer head T slot nuts 30 series M4. I have this one: https://a.co/d/cCd7Xdr
  • M4x16mm bolt. I have this kit: https://a.co/d/9VMm4HB
  • M4 washer. (comes with same kit as M4 bolt)
  • ¼" camera screw. I happen to have one lying around my house.

I uploaded the fusion 360 file (f3d) as well as two STL versions: one has a countersink webcam hole, the other one has a straight through hole.

My print settings:

  • Prusament PETG orange filament (to match the rest of the printer color)
  • 6 perimeters for vertical and horizontal shells (this is probably overkill)
  • Triangular infill pattern for strength
  • 30% infill
  • No supports needed if placed on the largest face as shown in one of my photos

The webcam that I have is this one: https://a.co/d/57fmt6B, I like that it has a 120 wide angle and gives a good view of almost the entire print bed (one of my photos shows the webcam view).

Good luck and please let me know if you have questions or comments!
