I really liked the original version of this wallet and printed it out a few weeks ago but I found that I really only needed 5 cards and I needed a place to store my Tile tracker card so I added a drawer on the back.
Some other modifications is
- Making it print in multiple parts to allow for different colors on the sliding mechanism
- Tightening up the tolerances to hold the cards tighter and help the fan out mechanism
- Removing the texture on the slider since it tended not to print out that great and I have a textured bed surface, so I found that worked better and looked nicer
Version 1.1
- Thickened up some of the walls to make it easier for 0.6 printers to print and prevent an issue during printing where some wallets fell apart after printing
- Toughened up the spring to prevent snapping and provide a more satisfying click (should also help the slide out mechanism be a little more reliable)
Experimental
- Added a new hinge version, this has some really tight tolerance so crank down your layer height.
- You can also try printing it with the door side down which works better for the hinge but causes the other parts to sag without support
The author remixed this model.
Tighten up a lot of the tolerances
Reduce the amount of cards to 5
Add a drawer on the back
Change the card holding mechanism as the current one tends to pull the cards together
