WIP: Dyson Airwrap and accessories mount.
I essentially took WheninWome's twistlock accessories holder (4X) and plasmata's airwrap holder shelf and mashed them together into a single wall mountable station. This has a space for the wand as well as 4 accessories.
I was looking to create an 'all in one' stand rather than separate accessories. I also struggled thinking of a way to mount this to the wall solidly, without visible fasteners. So the first step was taking the separate ideas for twist lock accessory holders and shelves and combining them into one.
The design I came up with for wall mounting is somewhat similar to a floating shelf design. The base plate is attached by driving two screws through the pegs on the baseplate, ideally into wall anchors. Then, you just slide the main body assembly over it.
The important bits (twist lock accessory holders and the wand stand) works great. And as you can see from the photos, the model has been printed in PETG-CF and functions great. However, there are some issues I'm still working out and needs to be fixed for V2:
• I worked with STLs as the .STP files were unavailable, so the model has a lot of random geometry. You will see this with the main body STEP file.
• The "stylized" plate design has a lot of overhang, so it currently has to be printed with supports. Will need to be revised to print without supports
• There is no retention mechanism between main body and backplate, so currently the main body can be pulled off without much effort. I'm looking at a few options for a retention mechanism that can allow repeatable disassembly- perhaps just a screw and nut/heatsert, maybe a tab, or even tabs and a third wall screw. In the meantime, you can use glue, thin profile double sided tape or just tape along the bottom edge to keep the two parts together.
The author remixed this model.
Use of twistlock accessory mounts (4X) as well as the airwrap holder accessory to turn into one combined wall-mount organization station. Geometry has been modified where appropriate for printability and strength.
