After living with my XL and my v1 camera mount (XLCam v1) I've realized that the viewing angle was not ideal. It was hard to see the first layer clearly as the camera was almost level with the bed when it was at the top.

This is a new case which mounts to the back corner of the frame (there are models for both sides, I mount mine on the right). The camera is up higher, and the new case allows the camera to be tilted based on personal preference.

Printing

STLs are provided for left and right mounting. I printed in PETG: Black, Orange, White on a textured sheet.

Import the case, XL, and Cam files into PrusaSlicer as a group, then place with the flat surface on the print bed. The shroud should sit with the lower end on the build plate; you will likely need a brim for the shroud. Paint a support on the lower flat surface of the \u201ctunnel\u201d in the stand object, that should be the only support needed.

Assembly

The Raspberry Pi 4 (I used a 4GB) and camera V2 are held in place with a couple of screws each. The camera shroud is held in place with two m3x8 screws; tilt and tighten as desired. The camera stand/cover is held in place with two small screws.

You'll need a longer ribbon cable for the camera and a right angle USB-C adapter for the power cord. The USB-C cable and ethernet cables can be routed out just behind the filament sensor block.

A single 4mm screw and a T-nut are used to hold the case in place, right above the filament sensor block.

The camera module and Pi are attached with small screws (see link to screw assortment above; super handy for all sorts of projects).

Software

The software setup is the same as for XLCam v1.
