CD Retro Lamp / Compact Disk Lamp

Once upon a time, before streaming services were invented, we used good old-fashioned CDs to enjoy our music. And every one of us has that one favorite album that became a part of our heart with every single song.

So what to do with this piece of memory nowadays? Well, turn your cherished beauty into a beautiful retro lamp. The only things you need are some filament and a piece of cheap LED strip.

Print instructions:

• Print in PLA
• 0.2mm layer height
• 15% gyroid infill
• 6 top, 4 bottom layers

Assembly instructions:

Use a cheap 5V LED strip that doesn't get too hot. I used some USB-powered ones from AliExpress. Cut a piece of LED strip and slide it into the bottom of the lamp. If needed, use a drop of glue to secure the strip. Place your favorite CD into the lamp, power on the strip, and enjoy! 😁

Additional info: 

The model was designed for a snug fit on CD's with a dimension of 142mm x 124.5mm x 10.5mm which is the regular EU size for albums.
