Print your own 8 by 8 pixel matrix and make good use of one of those textured sheets collecting dust.
I really like the dot matrix tiles found here (https://www.printables.com/model/844151-dot-matrix-tiles-print-in-place), but when I print them on one of those fancy textured sheets, the sheet pattern is only visible on one side of the pixels.
My goals for my take on the pixel matrix were:
The matrix has to be printed in 2 parts. It is best to place grid and covers in the same position on the textured sheet, so that the pattern of the textured sheet is continuous with pixels in both positions. Of course you should glue the covers to the correct pixels.
I used - just a bit of - superglue to fix the color covers to the squares. Aligning is easy with the help of the triangle.
The pixel matrix can be fixed to a wall with the simple wall hook. Due to the low weight of the pixel matrix, I chose to simply tape the hook to the wall using nano-tape. I actually like using nano tape whenever possible because it is strong and can be removed without leaving a trace.
The hook does bend a bit, therefore it is quite easy to insert (just press the matrix onto the hook) or remove (press or slide to the right or left) the pixel matrix.
If some people actually go to the trouble to print and glue this, I may create some different versions.
