Installation tool (drift) for tapping the cutterhead into the DeWalt 735 and 735X planers.  It fits both the stock cutterhead or the Byrd Shelix cutterhead.  It is designed to use with a mallet to tap the cutterhead into the planer. Usually, you juts tap on the end of the cutterhead.  With this drift, it distribute the hammer blows evenly across the end of the cutterhead and also to the bearing so that you don't get any shearing forces along the bearing race as you try to seat into the planer.

Printing Suggestions:

This was designed and printed with ABS.  Because you will be striking this with a mallet, you want to use a filament that has good impact resistance. I used 8 walls and a 10% 3d Honeycomb infill.  Very Important:  in your slicer, add a solid modifier to the center of the model that uses 100% infill.  I also printed this with 50 solid bottom layers! This is because you want to be able to transfer the mallet strikes effectively to the face to cutterhead and the bearing perimeters.

Note: the file does not have any text on the surface.  That was added in the slicer.
