This base was designed for to replace the standard square plastic base found on many generic trim routers, and in the case, specifically the Ryobi RTR400S and RTR300 and generic trim routers.
It will allow the fitting of a range of common guide bushing sizes using the standard screw fittings.
The bushing can be accurately positioned using the separate guide piece.
Both pieces were printed in PLA on a smooth sheet without support, .4mm nozzle, PrusaSlicer .2mm QUALITY and 25% infill.
To install the new base, remove the original plastic base and position the new base, securing it by replacing the standard screws.
DO NOT TIGHTEN THE SCREWS YET!
Snap the “centre finder” into the base and insert it into the router, tightening the collet. Finger tight will do, we just need to secure it in place.
The base will now be perfectly aligned with the collet so with the finder in place, tighten the screws in position.
Remove the centre finder, attach the guides, fit a router bit and happy template routing!
