All files and final model is 50% scale of the original.

Our team comprised mainly of Special Needs kids at the middle school level won the Judges Award Trophy for their teamwork and tenacity at developing a unique catapult for our district's Vex Spin Up Competition. This was the first trophy these kids had won and since it was a team trophy it belongs to the school. So I decided to see if I could make them 3D replicas to have their own trophies they could take home.

I found a trophy that someone had made a few years back on Thingaverse by NWRobotics and I improved on it. I am so glad I got a Bambu Labs X1-C for Christmas.

Added faux bolt heads made from https://grabcad.com/library/vex-trophy-1 file called nut.ipt that I had to convert to stl using fusion 360.

I did some modifications to the spacers and added faux bolts from the site shown above to make easier to assemble since I was gluing my fingers to the trophy and taking about 15 to 20 minutes per trophy (aside from printing). I got assembly time down to about 5-8 minutes per trophy--possibly less if I had better glue.

Approximately 2.5 mm drill bit and pen vice drill.

I re-posted all the files here in one place for ease of printing.

You will need for each trophy:

1 x Silver_Trophy

1 x Black_Stand

1 x Black_Date Plate--you will need to add current date before printing

1 x Black_Award_Plate OR VEXCompLogoPlate

4 x VEX FAUX BOLT head (2 for the date plate and 2 for the Award/Logo Plate

4 x VEX_hole_spacer2--for inserting the faux bolt shafts into to attach the Silver_Trophy to the black_stand

8 x VEX FAUX BOLT w shaft--use the small drill to slightly widen the holes in the mesh of the trophy and stand to put the Faux Bolts through.

How I Designed This

Modification is the name of the game

I used Tinkercad to cut off the shaft to make the nut..er bolt heads to go on the year and award plates. I resized the spacers and made the cylindrical void to fit the bolt shafts since they were very close to fitting through the mesh on the silver and black trophy and stand (I used a small drill to widen the holes just a bit).

Since I could use the faux bolts with a little super glue to insert into the spacers, it made holding the pieces in place a breeze--where before I could not keep the pieces in place to keep them straight and I ended up with a mm thick coat of superglue on all my fingers.
