If you own a creality K1 series printer you know for sure about x axis resonance issue and you know about the springs trick.

Someone obtained results removing completely the springs, some others by replacing them with weaker.

So i designed this simple mod to adjust in place the spring tension finding your printer's setup.

It includes a redesigned plate to replace the original and two printed grub screws, We will take advantage of the low tolerances to have a "forced" tightening plastic/plastic and keep the spring in place. For this reason, the parts must be printed with great precision (and good material), you will probably do more than one test.

You need also 2 extra tiny screws ( i used these 2x6 mm)

They are screwed in 2 extra holes, I did them using 1 mm drill bit (you don't need too much depth, just 3 or 4 mm) BE CAREFULL

I suggest positioning the plate using the standard screws to mark the position of the holes and then proceed to drill

Holes are mandatory if you are adding screws, otherwise the plastic carriage will crack.

Print settings:

  • 0.1 layer
  • Use high temp and “sticky” material like NYLON or PCPBT. This is because the threads are very small and must resist. Either way, try and you'll find your solution.
