As the Joel Bot rises it looks for new avenues to gain a foothold in our society. It has thus begun adopting likenesses of others to lull the communities into a false sense of security. Be vigilant and you can spot them. You an also hear it chant "All your subs are belong to us."
A mash-up of Daniel Noree's scan and Apyrodesign's Joel Bot inspired by Lady Muse. Please check out these awesome creators and enjoy.
Meshmixer import
I opened first the Daniel Noree scan and then appended the Joel Bot. With the 'Edit' tools I could scale, move, and plane-cut the scan to fit, roughly, the Joel Bot.
Sculpting
In the sculpting tab I used the 'Move' brush with adjusted size and lowered strength to get a better fit between the two models. For instance the ears and neck of the scan were pulled "into" the bot. This gave it more of the mask look I had been aiming for.
Combining and Finishing
Once satisfied with the models relative to each other I did a Boolean merge. This is different then a combine which only links the models and the extra polygons are still "inside" each other. The Boolean merge fuses the polygons and all extra geometry is lost, intentionally.
Using the sculpt tool 'smooth-shrink' I cleaned up some of the areas between the merge.to get the chin and beard scan into a better printing state (not going for a "true" reproduction just printable likeness) I alternated between move and smooth-shrink tools so nothing would be printing in air. You can see the slice example of how all the layers build on top and there are no parts being generated in open space (these appear like a torus [donut] or dot with circles around indicating the "top" of a peak).
