Esun Spool Mount (With Bearings)

This is a simple yet effective wall mount for Esun filament spools.

The idea behind this was to decouple all vibrations resulting from the old spool mount that attaches directly to the base extrusions of my Anycubic Vyper. This one attaches to a wall behind the printer reducing resonance on the x-axis.

In addition to this, a clear advantage is utilizing 2x 6204-2RS bearings to allow for smooth filament feeding to the extruder, reducing drag at high speeds. The bearings will rotate consistently inside the spool hub allowing for a consistent extrusion force.

I included the .f3d file in case someone decided to modify it to work for other brands of filaments.

• Material: PLA+
• Temp: 190° C
• Layer height: 0.2mm
• Infill: 10% Cubic
• Perimeters: 3

Bill of materials:

• 2x 6204-RS Bearings (Find the cheapest you can get as long as it's smooth) {Example: https://www.amazon.com/6204-2RS-Sealed-Bearing-20x47x14-Lubricated/dp/B07BN3X74X}
• 4x M6 screws for the wall

Assembly instructions:

• Carefully press esun_spool_holder_shaft into both bearings at both ends, it should fit snuggly with a bit of force (Do not hit bearings with a hammer, duh).
• Carefully insert the shaft and both bearings into esun_spool_holder_hub_casing. It should also fit snuggly. At this point you should be able to rotate the casing independently from the shaft.
• Use esun_spool_holder_base to mark the 4 holes that will be drilled to mount the entire thing to the wall. Find a stud nearby if you live in the US. Otherwise just use a drill and 4xM6 screw anchors to attach the base to the wall at the desired position.
• Thread the shaft into the base, Threads might not fully tighten. Just go as far as you could.
• Mount the spool onto the casing, should be rotating freely now.
• Use esun_spool_holder_lock to lock the spool into place.
• Insert esun_spool_holder_hub_cover into the inner diameter of the casing to cover the bearings, this is merely cosmetic.
