I wonder if anyone ever needs this but as I was proud to create my first own CAD model I though it's worth sharing.
Due to exessive force (wifey smashed the door against the microwave's) the door mechanism of my Sharp microwave broke. I had to learn to do some CAD magic as I could not find a fitting part online (which is to no suprise I guess) and this is the working result.
In order to get to the part you have to first remove the front face of the 2-piece door from the inside. Remember to remove the clips you brake during that process so they don't rattle around. After that you can remove the black cover on the inside to be able to access the lever that triggers the closing switch inside the microwave. Remember to pick up the spring that flew across the room, you will need it during reassembly.
For printing you need to use supports to the build plate. I recommend to only support the tip of the guide arms (the two long arms on top) to make support removal easier.
I used ABS because the guide arms are pretty fragile, but you might get away with PETG. I have not tried with PLA but it doesn't seem like an ideal choice as there is quite some energy involved when slamming the door.
I would add the model of the microwave but it is not mentioned anywhere on the machine so if anyone knows, let me know.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
