I wanted to set up a status indicator under my desk, but out of the existing ones, I couldn't find one that:
* Could be reasonably mounted under-desk
* Supported more than two statuses
* Was easily visible at a distance
So: The result!
Printing instructions:
* The prongs need to be flexible but sturdy, so print them out of PETG (or maybe ASA?) They do require support structures - I find that good ol' grid actually works better than organic for something like this.
* The main display is printed in two parts, mostly to properly print the curves at the top. They're joined together with a plastic dowel; superglue the assembly together.
* Speaking of the curves at the top, it *really* helps if they're smooth, which is easily accomplished with variable layer height.
* Print the signs in whatever color you want. Go wild!
It's designed to be screwed into your desk with M2 screws; pick the appropriate length. I'm honestly not entirely happy with the springiness, either it's hard to turn or it doesn't snap into position properly, but it works.
I've provided a .3mf with the appropriate settings, as well as the original .f3d export.
