This is a generic 3DClippy that can be adapted to any i3 style printer. It utilizes a mechanical arm to move a 9mm x 18mm utility knife blade to cut filament off. The arm is activated by a simple motion to either side of the gantry\u2026 one side cuts the filament and the other resets the cutter.

You will need to design an adapter plate and merge this model with it to mount it to your specific extruder. I've also included an example of the cutter on an Ender 3 printer to show how to implement it. Also, included in the files is a sample PrusaSlicer profile for the Ender 3 with the Mode 3 Tool Change GCode and the cutter block of code. Note, because this is mechanical, it can cause a loss of steps on certain printers, this sample profile demonstrates how to correct for that as well as how to increase the motor torque to make sure it works effectively.

You will need two M4x20mm screws to hold it together. Use a drop of super glue to hold the blade in the holder. Note that the blade only goes in one way, so test fit it first.

The length of the arm and the angle at which it engages the frame can be adjusted so that it can fit your specific geometry.
