First model!

I noticed that my K1 had vertical play in the rear Z leadscrew, appx 1 mm. It didn't seem to effect my prints much, but there is for sure the possibility of movement during a print.

I had no luck adjusting it via the grub screws at the bottom pulley so I made this.

It mounts to the top of the leadscrew using the 2 screws that are there to retain the bearing. It uses a brass insert in the center to allow for a 3mm screw to be placed that you tighten till it barely reaches the top of the leadscrew stopping it from moving up.

I rounded the end of the screw on mine to reduce friction and then put a nut on to lock it so it wont back out.

So far so good but it needs more testing!

Parts required;

2x 10mm coarse thread screws (8-32?) to attach to the gantry

1x 3x16mm screw and nut for adjustment.

I printed it with 3 walls, 3 top and bottom, 25% infill, made out of PETG and its way too strong. Supports enabled for the center circle, but with good bridging you might not need it.

Future changes;

I could do a version that doesn't use a brass insert, you could just thread the center hole. But I love brass inserts!

Also I can think of a way to do it via tension of the bracket instead, and a 4-5mm ball bearing, but I didn't have one on hand.

If anyone has any feedback feel free to let me know. Thanks!
