Many of you, including me, always have some spools of filament lying around openly. Especially filaments that are rarely used often lie around for months, collect dust or get a lot of daylight. You don't want dust in the extruder and UV light contributes to the filament becoming brittle.
I created this filament belt to pack the spools quickly and easily without having to put them in a box or something like that.
The filament belt is printed in vase mode to save material and time. By changing the height of the model in the slicer, you can set the correct size for your spools.
After printing you can attach a piece of filament to better distinguish the spools.
Printing instruction:
- Set the vase mode in the slicer
- Set the soil layers to 0
- Increase the extrusion multiplier by 0.02 or 0.03 to get a better connection of the wall lines
- You can best print this model without component cooling, set this to 0 as well
- Print the first layer slowly to get a good adhesion on the print bed
If you are using a filament clip with the filament attached to the edge of the spool, you may want to use this one: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/24371
