This design is based on spacing points as equally as possible on a sphere (using charge-like relaxation optimization) and then cutting planar slices perpendicular to those directions. This make fairest as possible dice for any number sided Die. Numbers cut out from opposite site (because it not platonic solid it can be not on dice face).
It can be good narrative of cursed player who cannot do his absolute best, and must roll d20 check with d19. Or gift from DM for amazing roleplaying - d21 instead of d20 (double crit for god-rewarded adventurer).
You can recreate platonic solids (classic d6 d20 d12) dice with this technique, but they appear to be slightly cursed. Consider pretty fair probability distribution, they still can be used.
Weight distribution closer to the surface makes it enjoyable to roll, especially grippy plastics like matte.
