3D parts to build a 10m Moxon.
The antenna is a 3d printed design, using mast, guys, antenna wire and tent poles. Its designed to be lightweight and “quick” to deploy. the current configuration is:
Parts:
1. Central Hub:
The file is configured for a Sotabeams Tactical 7000HDS mast and 8.5mm tent poles. I have included a freecad file so you can adjust for the required Diameter of the mast you want to use and the tent poles diameter in the ‘parameter spreadsheet’. Both should be interference fit (Currently 22mm for mast and 8.7mm for tent poles.)
2. Pole ends with feed for antenna wire and clips for stabilising guys
I have included a freecad file so you can adjust for the required Diameter of the tent poles diameter in the ‘parameter spreadsheet’. You can adjust the wire holes with the “torroid” diameter, but I don't think you will need to, as i just used cable ties to secure the wire.
3. Top Stabilising Ring
Used to attach Guys to the moxon from higher up the mast to provide stablity. The diameter of the mast hole is adjustable in the spreadsheet
4. Feedpoint T with strain relief and a hole to surface mount BNC connector
Strain relief holes are for the sotabeams heavy duty wire. they could be made smaller or use the lightweight wire.
5. Links with strain relief
Designed to have heat shrink over the first part of the antenna wire. You need 4 of these and adjust the gap between the reflector and radiator with a section of 2mm cord.
6. Mast guy ring.
I did make one for higher up the mast, but i didn't need this, this one was fine in reasonable wind conditions.
1b. Alternative Hub.
I also include a different hub, a remix of a design by youmslinky who posted the Fusion360 files, so for this you need Fusion360. This model allows you to add bolts to clamp the tent poles. I found that this was not necessary if you experiment and get the right interference fit ! Big thanks to youmslinky for posting the Fusion360 file.
Enjoy, I hope it works out for you.
Please reach out on the sota reflector or QRZ dot com if you need help with this.
