I wanted to create a circulation pump out of an air pump. The propeller spins and creates a small amount of horizontal force.

Unfortunately due to limitations with air bubbles it does not spin fast enough to replace a true circulation pump. But if you need a small to moderate amount of water flow this can do the trick.

It is designed to be inserted into some spare airline holder suction cups. I got it for 2.99 at petsmart. Top fin brand.

Two options

  1. You can print it to not have a nozzle and if so print the cap.
  2. otherwise don't print the cap as the nozzle file will go on there. Nozzle seems to rotate better as it limits the bubbles escape.

Printing tips

  • I have included the bgcode files that already have the supports.
  • Supports are only really needed for the propeller and the base, and that is just for the cylinders coming out of it
  • Be careful removing supports from the propeller as it is quite fragile.
