I was gifted a used a ZOTAC GTX 980Ti AMP! Extreme Edition graphics card and its fans where a constant annoyance. Way too loud and rattling. I came across the original by @testudor and was hooked to change this problem.
The design by @testudor is actually perfect. But as I did not have the kind of required screws at home, I changed the model to my liking and available screws. The mounting holes have been adapted to use hexagon head screws for the heatsink and standard fan screws to mount the fans and housing.
This should fit many different ZOTAC graphics card models using the same heatsink type. For sure I can confirm the GTX 980 and GTX 1080 models.
What you will need is:
I used some super cheap fans from Amazon. Way better than the original cooling solution. One might wonder why manufactures can't come up with a solution like that. The housing hides all the cables perfectly. An VGA to PWM power adapter cable and 1 to 3 splitter cable is needed in case you want to use the original fan header of the graphics card.
Print with at least PETG to be resistant with the temperatures within your PC case.
The author remixed this model.
