This is an improved version of a previous model I made.  This version allows you to use standard drum rims and tension rods and is printed in PLA.   Special thanks to smiley8476@smiley8476_430107  for helping me troubleshoot this design!

(*The cover photo is a prototype using the old model)

I printed mine on a CR-10 with a 0.6mm nozzle

Here are the settings I used for these drums…

Layer height - 0.28mm

Perimeters - 5

Solid layers - Top 4 Bottom 4

Infill - Cubic at 30% Combined every 2 layers

You can use any Standard 7/32" diameter, 12/24 thread tension rod.  I purchased mine from Drumfactorydirect.com but you can find them on other music sites or on Amazon.

Once the print is finished I would recommend slowly running your tension rod into each lug and back out before adding the head and rim and when tightening the head down to also take your time.  (Use a drill and not an impact driver)

I am working on adding printable rims for these drums as well. They will not be as strong but they can easily hold a mesh head with cracking.
