I wanted a wrecked submarine for my aquarium with a bit more detail than was available here. So I took the original C3 submarine I-52 from HastuneR, and simplified it a bit, hollowed it out, added holes and all of that for fish to be able to swim in and through it.
It is approximately 12" long and big enough for smaller fish to enjoy. It does float, so you can attach weights to the interior or bottom, or place decor over it to keep it down. Print in a non toxic material like PLA or PETG to keep your aquatic friends happy.
Glue will be required to attach the front, middle, conning tower, and rear sections together. I printed the main hull with a vertical orientation to save on infill, the conning tower printed in a standard orientation for detail, though the top of my conning tower came off, there may not be enough material to actually support the roof, or I was too much of a meat hands to separate the support without breaking it. Thankfully it's supposed to be a wreck anyway.
I did .2mm layer height and a 20% infill and tree supports, but do whatever works for you all.
Thank you!
The author remixed this model.
The remix has battle damage, missing portions, etc, and was split so that it could be printed easily. It was also simplified and had some accessories removed.
