Each half of the stand is 30mm wide to help promote stability underneath the laptop or tablet.
There are 2 frame versions that are cross compatible with all v2 Feet and provide slightly different angle options. v2 is a Right Triangle version that gives a bit better spread of angles, but doesn't look as cool to me :D
Not all of these angles will be able to serve all devices due to screen hinge limitations and center of gravity.
The stand is stable in normal use, but for more permanent setups, you may want to print out the connection mods that screw the two frame halves together for added rigidity.
The slot clearance between the foot and the frame is 0.1mm. The slot is tight but loosens up after a few insertions. You may want to print off the tolerance test before committing.
Flip the models to print on their side. The photos here show the honeycomb infill at 10% (as opposed to v1's 15%) and rigidity is still high enough to easily hold a Macbook Pro. Feel free to change the infill type, percentage and shells to suit your needs and aesthetic! I've gone as low as 5% with open sides and with closed sides I usually use aligned linear at 3% with a tweaked print angle and that seems like enough for typical use.
This is a non-compatible variation of Version 1 Stand which incorporates a more secure slot design. The v1 Stand has been more than adequate for my normal usage but felt that a more secure frame would be helpful to many.
