Description

PDF

These service rockers attach to the TwoTrees Sapphire Plus to allow you tilt your SP5 back and up off the table without crunching stuff along the back of your printer.

This was designed to be used with the panels that TwoTrees sells with the printer. Those panels are 3mm thick. Perhaps for those without panels a little ā€œLā€ shaped bracket could be made to go around the corner to fill that gap. Or feel free to take the step file and tweak the design.

Printing Notes

Print the following:

  • 1 x Service Rocker as-is.
  • 1 x Service Rocker mirrored (I mirrored over X, but I think any axis is okay, just be sure to lay the hexagons on the bed.
  • 2 x Reinforcement tabs (optional)

So far I think it feels pretty solid. I printed mine in PLA (SainSmart GT-3 Matte Black HF) for now using:

  • 0.2 layer height
  • 0.4mm nozzle
  • 4 perimeters
  • 3 top and bottom layers
  • 10% gyroid infill
  • No supports

The reinforcement tab is optional, but it should help prevent breakage if the service rockers are subjected to horizontal forces.

Hardware

You should be able to re-use the bottom side bolt going into the frame of the machine and the rear bolt in the reinforcement tab. The top side bolt needed to be a little bit longer, so it was replaced with an M4 12mm bolt (i think it was left over from the runout sensor that came with the printer but never used).

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Completely redesigned for the SP5, just took inspiration from this for the idea and general design.
