This is a simple model of a MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor-Field-Effect-Transistor).
It consists off many different layers and thus there are many objects if you decide to print them in different colors. In the photo of the design, the black are diffusion layers, the blue metal, the grey substrate/bulk, the red oxide and the green is a “well”. Depending on the explanation you want to give you can use the “Well” but it is not mandatory.
The model has clearance (0.28mm) so the diffusions slide freely in the substrate. The oxide and metal are a bit larger than the top of the substrate to indicate the overlap between the gate and the source or the gate and the drain.
I recommend to print them in different colors to show the different layers and NOT to print the “Simple_Mosfet_PMOS_NMOS v1” file. Use the single files to ensure correct printing
You need to print :
1 metal, 2 diffusions, 1 oxide, 1 substrate and if you need 1 n-well.
Different types of transistors like FinFet, GAA, Nanosheet and Forksheet will be made in due time.
I will not include the working theory behind the transistor or the manufacturing but a quick search will help you understand
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
