Evelyn's Maze Game

Evelyn's Maze Game is an original and fun board game to play for the whole family. \u00a0and the game is made to be a part of the Prusa contest \u201cBoard Games\u201d.

The video is of one of the prototypes so the goal, bricks, and other small parts have changed slightly since I recorded the video but the core of the game is still the same.

Introduction

When I heard that the new Prusa contest was about Board Games I decided to create something I had in my imagination for some time. It came out as Evelyn's Maze Game. The name Evelyn comes from my daughter Liva Evelyn. I spent way more time on this project than I would like to admit, so I really hope some of you will find joy in printing and playing my game.

Print Guide

The Game Board can either be printed in one piece or in two halves and then glued together. If you choose to print it in one piece, then you'll have to disable the raft in \u201cPrint Settings\u201d to make room for the print. The best option will be to print it in one piece to ensure all the bricks will fit on the board. But if you cant make long prints like me because you have your printer in the bedroom or likewise, you can choose the print it in two halves you need will just need to print two connector pins as well to make sure the two halves line up correctly.
I would recommend that you choose a clean bright color like white, gray, or just your favorite color.

The Game Bricks will need to be printed with a brim to make sure they don't rip off the print bed during the print. I have also made some custom support in the middle of the print to help against the bricks ripping off. When the print is done you will need to push out the support and file the small connection pieces to make a clean fit with the game board.\u00a0

For the Game Bricks, you will also need 4 different colors, you can use any colors but I would recommend using a color scheme like [Yellow, Orange, Red, Brown] [Pink, Purple, Dark Blue, Light Blue] [ Turkis, Green, Lime, Yellow] [All Vibrante colors] [All transparent fillament] and so on.

You need to use the colors like.
Color one: Game Brick 1, 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, and one Makers Coin
Color two: Game Brick 2, 6, 10, 14, 18, 22, and one Makers Coin
Color three: Game Brick 3, 7, 11, 15, 19, 23, and one Makers Coin
Color four: Game Brick 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, and one Makers Coin

The game

Steel Ball. You need one steel ball with a diameter of 7mm, there will be one in the spare bag that comes with Prusa I3 MK3S+

If you don't have the steel ball you can pick them up semi cheap from amazon steel ball 9/32 inch (7mm)

Game Board The Game Board is made in a 6 by 7 grid with several obstacles forcing you to be creative when building your maze.\u00a0

Some of the most iconic 3D printing figures are chosen as the obstacles to celebrate the Printing community.

Maze Prices There are a total of 24 Game Bricks (currently) and they should be printed in 4 different colors as explained above. (yeah the colors are not close to a scheme, but I'm a poor man, so I don't even have five different colors)

Rules

Player vs Player The first player will pick one of the maker's coins at random, and the color of the coin will determine with Game Bricks will be eliminated for their turn. The second Player/Team will choose a point at the board that will be the start point for the round. Now the player has to build a maze to guide the steel ball from the starting point and into the goal with the given game bricks. If the ball gets stuck u may push it free, and if the ball fall over the edge of your maze you may reset the ball at the start once, And if the ball fall over again the turn will be lost and the player will be rewarded with 0 points.

One point is given for every game brick the ball travels on. If the ball travels on two layers of a game brick it will give an extra point. You will need a total of 50 points to win.

Co-op Choose the starting point at random or use Evelyns Maze Game Random Wheel. Now build five different Mazes one at a time, all from the same starting point, and try to get as high a score as possible.

Creative Or you can be creative and make up your own rules. Just remember to have fun!

My to-do list:

Gonna make a board that is possible to print on the Prusa Mini.
- For now you can print the board and bricks at 75% and get a 3/16 inch stell ball.
Make some more bricks based on feedback.
Further experiments with the game bricks to make them easier to print with less support.
Explore different types of goals.
Look into the possibility to print a working ball.
Looking for a fun and printable randomizer for choosing a starting spot.
