MLB Team Stencils

A collection of logo stencils for each MLB team. These stencils were created in order to create 30 mini paintings that will become a functional art piece that acts as a standings board during each MLB regular season.

Credits

This project was inspired by a post from drgullien13 on /r/baseball. The cover photo of this project belongs to them. Once I have completed the paintings, I will replace the cover photo but the inspiration credit will remain.

Obviously, I do not own the rights to any of the MLB team logos. The rights belong to each respective team. The models were created by me using their respective copyrights.

This project was started as a labor of love for the game of baseball and will not gain any profit. I am posting these to anyone else who may want to make a similar standings art piece.

Additional info

• Each stencil is sized to 3x3" (76.2x76.2mm) to fit a 3x3" canvas. Since the stencils are a square, you should be able to resize with ease to fit your needs.
• My plan is to sponge paint each canvas with the logo colors of the respective team, in layers, then paint a white logo on top with an airbrush. I am prepared for the possibility of needing an offset black shadow layer before adding the white.
• The stencils include built in “supports” (but not those supports) for areas of the logo with may not be connected to the rest of the logo—the typographic counters, for example. I'm not sure if I will paint over these supports with a fine detail brush. The Cubs logo is particularly heinous. 
• Because the Astros are the Astros, their logo required two stencils: one for the star and one for the “H”. These stencils may need updating after trying them out. I will update the models and description if this is true.
• I may add the Negro League teams at a later date.
• I may also start adding defunct teams like the Montreal Expos, Seattle Pilots, Cleveland Spiders, and Boston Bees.
