I really enjoyed Matthew Bogner's Desktop Dumpster model, but I wanted the lids to overhang the front edge of the dumpster slightly, just to be a little easier to flip back. While I was at it, I also decided to close up the gaps near the hinges, just as a personal aesthetic preference.
I printed these in TPU so that they felt and sounded like real dumpster lids. The “handles" printed fine for me in PLA without any supports, but I just couldn't get them to print cleanly in TPU. I ended up adding snug supports, just under the handles and by setting fan speed to 100% on support interfaces (Orcaslicer setting) I was able to get TPU supports to release.
The author remixed this model.
Lengthened the lids slightly and moved back edges closer to the hinge to eliminate gaps.
