Clip-In cable/wire spool

Very handy to keep a few meters of different small diameter wire types at hand. Great for prototyping and such. It is not meant to handle/take bigger diameter wires. I use them for the small stuff like 0.2mm enamelled copper wire and 0.6mm litz wire.

It does hold about 5 to 6m of the Ø0.6mm wire and >10m of 0.2mm copper wire.

  • Print time is 1h30m for a set of three
  • friction can be maximised by putting a rubber band over both hooks
  • two holes of Ø3.5mm, 20mm apart for mounting
  • can be stacked by putting a M3 all thread through the holes. You may want to add one or two washers between individual spool holders then

Is it easy to build/assemble?

Yes, just print both parts and clip them together.

What do I need other than the printed parts?

  • small piece of tape to fixate the start of the wire to the spool

Filament: PETG, ABS, ASA. Printing the clip in PLA might be too sturdy/brittle.
