Description

Useful of you need to keep track on how many turns you made on a shaft or want to remember setting to quickly tune back to previous value.

Knob is directly connected to shaft and follows 1:1. Counter tracks knob revolutions and position.

Mechanism is compact, still numbers are 4 mm high, size without knob is 55x60x10, knob is 15x24 mm  at its base.

My use is for tuning multi-turn capacitors, but can be used for any turning application.

This is an application on a  model I made earlier; Freecad geneva wheel - parametric.

Build

  1. Please fill text pockets with paint before printing
  2. Print one piece of each STL no support needed
  3. Put together as in pictures, wait with Knob and Shaft
    1. Wiggle for little to cogs entering right fit
  4. Add Knob and Shaft last ande press together, that should be enough to hold it together

Depending on your application mount using the holes, add more holes and maybe glue together. The hexagonal shaft hole is R3 mm.
