The hands on this model are free to move.  Use them to teach your child to tell time or hang it on the wall to mark when something is supposed to happen.  We put one on our daughter's door to remind her when she could get up from her nap.  We put one on the outside of our bedroom door to remind her of the earliest time she could wake us up on the weekend.

Version 1 (Retainer clip):

Instructions:

  • Print the face with a single color change at 3mm.  If you don't have an MMU, a manual color change will still work.
  • Print the hands in the same color as the numbers on the face or a contrasting color.
  • Assemble by putting the hands over the post and locking them in with the two retaining clips.
  • (Optional) Hang it up with 3M command strips

Version 2 (Screw):

Instructions:

  • Print the face with a single color change at 3mm.  If you don't have an MMU, a manual color change will still work.
  • Print the hands and screw in the same color as the numbers on the face or a contrasting color.
  • Assemble by lining the hands up with the threaded hole in the face and screwing the screw in.  Do not overtighten or the screw will break and the hands will not move.
  • (Optional) Hang it up with 3M command strips

Slicer Settings:

  • Designed for 0.4mm nozzle.
  • Prints well in PLA.
  • Hands and retaining clips/screw: 4 perimeters and 100% infill
  • Face: 2 perimeters and set Archimedean Chords for top-layer infill
