Lightning's Blazefire Saber from Final Fantasy 13

The original model wasn't quite suitable for printing and assembly, so I cut it up some more, and made some inserts to add strength at the joints.

You will need to print multiple of some inserts and I labelled those files as needed. This was my first time splitting a model to make it printable, but I printed and painted the whole thing before sharing the files so that I know the design works. You will likely need to sand some parts to connect properly and hide imperfections from supports, but I tried to account for sagging from bridging. If you have a suggestion to improve it, please let me know.

Printing 

3 perimeters and low infill on the blade parts will balance the sword out better and the lighter blade is less likely to break. 8-12% infill is the sweet spot. 20% or higher for the inserts will help them hold the weight of the sword the best. 

Also, in my experience, PLA is better than PLA+ for swords because the rigidity prevents sagging.

Assembly

CA glue ( super glue) creates a very strong bond if prepped properly. Take some sandpaper around 120 grit and sand the bonding surfaces in a circular motion. Spread a thin layer of glue to ensure proper coverage and reduce blobs leaking out the sides. Get some CA glue accelerator to spray on and bond the parts instantly to make alignment easier. I also like to use Apoxy Sculpt to fill in gaps before sanding the excess and painting.

Mounting

I mounted my Blazefire Saber on the wall using the mounts from d4didyo's Mistsplitter Reforged design and some plain picture hangers. They happened to fit quite well!
