This is a compact holder for the standard 6x30 finder if used as a guide scope.

I printed it from PETG.
I tapped the treads in the plastic, it is screwed together without using nuts. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern evenly in multiple steps.

BOM:

  • 4pcs. M4x25mm cylinder head screws. (M4*20 will work too)
  • M4 thread tap tool
  • Optional: The bottom has holes for M5 thread (2pcs on the sides) and a photo thread in the middle eg. for Vixen-plate or quick release plate mounting if needed. For these holes, M5 and 1/4UNC20 tap tools are needed.

I also included the bottom part with modeled threads, -0,07mm push on the thread profiles for the tolerances of 3D printing, but I haven't printed this version.
The screw holes are wider after the 10mm sections for the threads, maybe threaded brass inserts will work too.

Fusion 360 file is included for modification.

This is for guiding / polar alignment, in these application parallelization with the main scope is not needed, so this has no adjusting mechanism.

For camera adaptation see my T2 adaptor for this scope: https://www.printables.com/model/206167-guide-scope-from-a-6x30-finder-scope-t2-adaptor
