The subtle movements of the z-axis can be hard to see, it is usually less than a millimeter during moves. The rotation of the z-axis is usually bigger, but even that is hard to see. This thing adds an indicator making the rotation more visible. Its construction make it easy to add, without any disassembly and reassembly of the printer. All it requires is two different colours of filiament. You need four things for a complete indicator.

The location is chosen to not interfere with X-axis assembly movement.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

i3 MK3

Rafts: No

Supports:

No

Resolution: 0.20mm

Filament: Brand: Any will do PETG

Colour: two different ones

Notes:

The example used the two colours already present in my printer.

BTW, I noticed that using dry PETG has considerable less stringing than untreated PETG with the same gcode. For drying I used a cheap food dryer on max. temperature (which happened to be 60 degrees Celcius), 6 hours.

How I Designed This

The design is made for 8mm transport thread, but can be changed in the OpenSCAD file.
