Curtain Rod End Caps (Double Swirl)

Overview

Spice up your living space with these decorative curtain rod end-caps. Designed for tubes with an OD of around 27mm, plus a bit of allowance for paint. 

Usage

Contains screw holes for M4 grub/set screws that can be used to secure to the curtain rod. 

Printing instructions

Nothing special here. I printed them all rather quickly at 0.3 layer height in the Draft mode and standard PLA. Maybe consider bumping up perimeters to 3 in the “swirl” section and disabling infill. No parts need supports, however a brim may be useful for increased bed adhesion

Assembly and Painting

These were designed to be painted by dunking them into paint. The “PaintBucket” part is a close shape match for the parts, and can be used to hold the paint for dunking. The tips on the one end of the swirl part are extra pointed to aid with paint flow and drying, see picture. 

Before it's completely dry, you can jam the pointed bits into the end-cap part with the pockets, and the paint will function as a glue, holding it all together. 

Due to the complexity of the model, it is not really feasible to paint it in any other way, so either prep for the messy task of dunking the parts into paint or print in the desired color/finish from the get-go.
