A little Christmas tree!
Lights can be printed in multiple color or can be painted . It can also be turn into a lamp by printing transparent light with 2 wall and no infill and adding led at the bottom of the tree. A remote led puck hot glued in the base would do the trick.
Parts should to be glued in place.
I've printed 3 sizes 100%, 95% and 50%. Alll in pla.
Layer height 0.12 and 0.1
wall: 4 (100%) and 3(50%)
Infill: 20%
support:
- Star = Yes
- Tree = Only the bottom of the tree. Up to the end point of the first and largest batch of branch.
Brim: Yes (optional for the cap)
Printed each color of light by batch of 7 ( there is 44 light) and the Star by batch of 3 to give cooling time and better chance at getting one with perfect tips. Bottom tips are stuck on support and can a bit more fragile depending on filament!
Having a few extra lights printed of each color gives you a chance for variation in the placement. And if you displace one your still in business! They like to bounce on the floor and then disapear. So big warning: The christmas elfs love them!
I'm adding 3 extra files :
-NoHoles_Xmas tree_with light : Need a Xmas tree star printed ( i recommend this one. Star is the weakest part, so to avoid print fail due to the star and making it replacable.
-Xmas Tree_with lights and star : not recommended but here it is! I suggest printing the star separately
-NoHoles_only tree : Simle tree with no ornaments.
