Description

Hi There, if you plan on downloading this model please consider leaving a like, posting a make, leaving a review, or even a donation. Thank You!

The Sidewinder model rocket takes inspiration from the AIM-9 Sidewinder short-range air-to-air missile designed by the U.S. military. This rocket was designed and prototyped for use with Estes 18mm C6-3 and C5-3 motors, and Estes 1/8" rod launch pad. The rocket is 34mm in diameter, it has a total length of 22", it weighs 130 grams with the motor installed, and it will fly 400+ feet. It is 3D printed in ABS plastic and it is made up of 5 parts; the nose cone, the body tube assembly, the base fins, and the motor cap. For reference I included an image of the Open Rocket design file.

**Nose Cone - add infill with a target weight of 16 grams**

Assembly: Test fit parts before assembly, make any adjustments needed with sand paper. Install shock cord on Upper Tube Mount. Glue Upper Tube to Lower Tube. Glue Tube assembly to Base Fins. Attach the shock cord to Nose Cone, and then add the parachute.
