Description

Designed for the hobbyist budget option for making use of a Bosch FSN rail in combination with a MFT table top (20mm dog holes, 96mm spaced) to easily make repeatable 90 degree cuts with your tracksaw.

Parts

The assembly consists of three general parts (Railplate, Railcatcher slider and Bolt) and two parts that are specific to the material thickness (9, 12, 15 or 18mm). The bolt is made to friction fit so you don't have to worry about it falling out, but yet shouldn't cause too much friction that the hinge won't move easily. Adjust X&Y size with minimal steps accordingly to your printer's accuracy.

Additionally, a drill jig is added to mark the location for adding additional 20mm holes for both the Baseplate and the Railcatcher.  This one is useful if you have cut your MFT top with a forstner bit. I also included templates to use with your router, containing a 20mm cutting bit in combination with a collar (24mm, 27mm and 30mm available). This is the preferred method, as you can see in the pictures where the first method was used you easily get some play in the dog holes.

They can be put on your preferred location on your MFT top.

The Railcatcher slider is made to accept a M3 heated insert and can be adjusted in the railcatcher to make sure you have a 90 degree cut. It is advised to print a slider for each railcatcher so that you only have to finetune to 90 degrees per railcatcher and fixate them with an M3 bolt.

Recommended print settings

You can use the material you prefer (PLA, PETG, ABS, etc) as long as it has enough rigidity. Due to the mechanical stress, I would advise to print with at least 4 perimiters and an infill of at least 25%. The prints should only require support on the buildplate only.

As the print settings differ from machine to machine and tolerances are tight in the design, I also included the step file so you can adjust it to best fit your printer settings (or to your liking :))
