This is a small handle that fits on the round, 3.0 mm tang of a hobby/miniature file. The tang inserts into the handle 53 mm. The handle provides a better grip and protects one's hand from the sharp end of the tang. I designed these simple handles because I didn't like the sharp tang end, which would occasionally jab into the palm of my hand.

This handle is specifically designed to fit Nicholson brand 5 ½" (140 mm) Hobby File Sets (part #42030L), which have a 3.0mm, round tang. There are normally 6 files, but I broke one. :)

The handle has a built in air/glue vent to help with inserting the tang into the handle. I glued in my handles by pouring a little glue into the shaft in the handle, and inserting the tang. Excess glue came out of the vent shaft. If you are going to glue in the handles, make sure that the tangs will fully insert into the handle shaft prior to gluing. It is a fairly tight fit. I found that when I first attempted to insert the tangs, some of them stopped about ½ of the way in. I had to apply additional force to push the tang all the way in.

I printed the handles with Bambu Labs PLA Basic, gray filament, using brims, with a wall thickness of 6 layers and 15% Cubic infill.
