PDF

A model set for making miniatures of “Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cube” and its variants from the Portal 2.

The default size is supposed to be in 1:12 scale which assumes the 1:1 height of the cube would be 2.25 ft.

Printing Guide

File name of each part contains a number suggests amount needed to make one cube.

The parts shown in the pictures were printed under 0.2 mm layer height & 0.4 mm nozzles.

Some alternative parts for different logos are also available.

Assembly Guide

  1. Combine 2 “Core” parts to create a cube.
  2. Attach all 6 "Plate" parts onto the cube
  3. Place 2 “Edge” parts onto the cube, then attach 1 “Corner” part to secure the edges. Repeat for another 2 edge parts. Then, attach the rest of corners.
  4. Attach a “Glow” part onto a cube face, then attach a “Ring" part onto the same face to secure the glow part. Repeat for other faces.
  5. Attach “Side" parts.
  6. Combine a “Logo” and a “Circle”, then attach them together onto the cube. Repeat for other faces.

It may or may not require glue, which depends on material properties, printing issues, etc.

Deformities like oozing would make assembly difficult, though some sanding or cutting tools could fix that.
