This mode is based on performing 4 scans.  The first three on a turntable with a tripod (standing up, laying on its front, laying on its back).  The last scan was a hand scan to try and fill in some missing parts.  I used Texture “slam mode” but my process doesn't preserve the texture in the finished model.

To generate the models I:

  • Manually aligned the 4 scans in JMStudio.
  • Exported the cloud as .asc and imported it into CloudCompare.
  • Combine the 4 scans into a single cloud (CloudCompare).
  • Run SOR filter (15 points, 1.00 std dev.) to clean the cloud (CloudCompare).
  • Export the cloud as a .ply to import into Revo Scan.
  • Ran a cloud isolation (15%) to clean the mesh even more (Revo Scan).
  • Meshed at whatever quality number gave me approximately a 0.1mm resolution (Revo Scan).
  • Ran a mesh isolation (15%) to remove a couple of disconnected blobs (Revo Scan).

I have also included a model which had 1 iteration of smoothing at 0.3 run on it (Revo Scan) after the above process.  For reference, I also included the textured model generated by JMStudio.

I've included a few pictures.  The green model is what it looks like in Prusaslicer, the blue when meshed with JMStudio and the coloured model is JMStudio adding the texture to the meshed object.  The final picture is the original miniature for reference.
