Hi all!

I am thinking to go for a direct extruder lately.

I wonder if anyone has tried their direct extruder with the new firmware with input shaper. Will not work? I guess the filter prisa is using has been tinned for their step motors.

I bought a Trianglelab TBGS extruder in the end due to the bigger gear ratio. It is installed but I am having issues getting decent prints out of it.
Could you please upload the profiles you are using here?

@Daniel_552627 I have good and not to good news!
After a bunch of tries and printer calibration I manage to print PLA and PETG well, but I am struggling with TPU.

My extruder just can not push it through, the gears just jump on the filament and cannot push it through the nozzle.

Any ideas? (edited)

Printed in Green petg.
The direct drive extruder I ordered ans mounted came with a faysec/moon motor.
Current set to 700mA (rated to 1A according to the spec of the motor).
Steps set to 880steps/mm.
Retractation set to 1mm @40mm/s.
Reintroduction to 1.1mm. (edited)

@Demonmkii_172269 Just follow the sequence 1 2 3 4 and plug it into buddy's E MOTOR motor socket. If the motor rotates in the opposite direction, just plug the plug in reverse.

Great work, thanx. Looking forward for TPU filament and my first flexible prints.

I was having under extrusion problems with the Sherpa Mini. I had to set my current to 600mA (M906 T0 E600) to get good results. This is with the new version of the LDO stepper.

The mount is great, I am having issuses with the motor skipping, I've tried increasing voltage and messing with other settings I have no idea how to fix it and need help. Thanks

Great design! I just installed and seems very solid. Anyone else seeing what looks like a crazy moire pattern on prints after upgrading? Trying to figure out if this is typical for these Sherpa extruders or if maybe I got a bad one.
