My fingers were getting sore from straightening wires. I was also not able to get them as straight as I would like and the wire comb was born.
Align each wire individually and parallel to the wire comb. The wire should align with the grooves on the comb. Then lightly pinch the wire between the grooved portion of the comb and slide toward the end of the wire. Rotate the comb 90 deg and do it again. I found that 2 passes was enough to get each wire very straight without damage to the wire.
