Rimfire Thickness Tester

Instead of paying upwards of 40 bucks for a nicer tester gauge I decided to make my own.

A simple testing gauge for rimfire rim thickness.

If you have a set of dial or digital calipers this should fit most all of them.

In my case I used an old machining vice to hold my calipers in place to get better

more accurate readings.

This is my second version which will be my final edit. I basically removed the through hole so that the area up inside of the gauge would have a more secure surface to sit on. I have been using my 1st design for several months.

Print the model as seen in the pic so the hole is face down. I used .15 layer height and 3 perimeters. In my case I used a brim to help secure model to bed. Once model is finished I would recommend placing it on your calipers and rub the surface back and forth a few time to remove any printing remnants like strings and such.
