The Creator's USS NOMAD

The NOMAD (aka North American Orbital Mobile Aerospace Defense) is a space station appearing in the film The Creator. It took me about 6h to design, and around 40h to print the full-scale model.

Lessons learned from my last design (The Starborn Guardian), this model includes now a stand and is easily buildable, without any glue.

The nomad_main_body need to be printed with supports, though the ohter parts shouldn't.

Each part needs to be printed once, plus ten tabs to link each of them. The model is intended to be printed completely in PLA, however I decided to make the lasers out of resin on a small scale version and it worked well. Wings are printed vertically for more details (no more stairs !), and the main body is printed upside down.

I recommend to use the .STEP and split it into objects in the slicer rather than using .STLs, I found the first method more reliable.

The full scale model is 124cm wingspan, but you can rescale it  and the tolerances will still be good. I understand that not everyone has room for meter+ long models ^^

LEDs shining under the lasers inside the stand, anyone ?
