Chester, The Mimic Bank

Store your coins in your new companion, Chester. Careful though, he likes the taste of fingers better than coins.

Print Instructions:

This is my first ever model so some parts are a bit finicky. It was definitely a learning process but below is what worked for me! Thank you!

Bottom Chest

  • 5% Infill
  • Supports Enabled (Can get droopy bridges if not, up to you though)
  • .2 Layer Height
  • Consider printing face down with coin slot on bed to minimize bridging. (I did not do this in my print)

Top Chest

  • 5% Infill
  • Supports Enabled
  • .2 Layer Height
  • Print on one of the left or ride sides facing the bed. The chest lid should be vertical rather than horizontal. (This helps with the curved top printing properly)

Bottom Drawer

  • 5% Infill
  • .2 Layer Height
  • Flip so the bigger side is facing down

Eyes(2), Teeth Big (4), Teeth Small (8), Gums (2)

  • 5% Infill
  • .16 Layer Height
  • All items have a built in .5mm tolerance with the socket its glued into.

Assembly:

I used basic super glue to glue each component into socketed area.

The bottom tray is tension fit so may be hard to get in initially.

Just rub it together until it slides easily.

Customization Options:

Remixes will be turned on to add any customization options you would like.

The big teeth have a diameter of 12mm.

The small teeth have a diameter of 10mm.

The eyes have a diameter of 45mm.

All the sockets they glue into are .5mm larger than the item so they fit easier. If your printer is well tuned and the items are too small to fit consider scaling up slightly to fit the sockets.

You can also paint pieces like I did to give it a bit more personality!

I would love to see some cool new eyes or teeth or even some tentacles or something to really make your mimic your own. So feel free to experiment around with it!
