I discovered the board game Qawale and found that there were no printable designs for it. So I made a simple version that was meant to look like gem stones instead of the stones of the original. I do not claim to be the inventor of this game I was just inspired by it and made my own version.

What you'll need to print….

1 game board. I made two versions one is a thinner 2.5 mm and one is a thicker 5mm I printed the 5mm and felt like it was too thick and took too long but you have options.

8 colored gems for each player (2)

8 Neutral colored gems

In this game each player is given 8 colored gems. There are also 8 neutral gems, these are used to start the game with 2 placed in each corner. The game is simple, place one gem of your color on top of at least one other gem that is on the game board. Once you place your gem you pick up the whole stack and place the bottom gem onto a place that is orthogonal to the starting location, continue moving the stack until all gems of that stack have been placed onto another place on the board. First player to get 4 of their colored gems in a row wins! A players color must be the top gem on a stack to count and you can win with 4 in a row vertically, horizontally or diagonally.

You cannot back track to a place that you have just come from, but you can circle back around to that place in the same move. You also cannot move diagonally. You must pick up the whole stack you cannot leave any on the starting spot. You cannot place one of your gems on an empty space to start a turn it must be on top of at least one other gem. There are no limits to how many gems can be on one space. A player does NOT win if they have four of their gems in a stack on one space.

Here is a link to someone explaining the rules if my explaination does not make sense or if you'd rather just watch a video!
